Torah Made Flesh: Study Guide

Complete reference and study materials for the movement foundation

Core Thesis Foundation

Three Foundational Questions

  • What exactly are we restoring? The understanding that Yahusha is the living Torah embodied in flesh
  • What problem does this correct? The false separation of faith from obedience that leads to lawlessness
  • What evidence grounds this? Scriptural testimony and early church historical records
Torah Made Flesh Definition:

Yahusha is not merely the fulfiller of Torah who ended its requirements, but rather the Torah embodied in flesh—the eternal Word made manifest who perfectly demonstrates what Torah observance looks like in human form.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us."
John 1:1, 14

The Elevator Pitch

Movement Summary

"The Torah Made Flesh Movement calls believers back to the living Word—Yahusha, the Torah embodied—to walk in His commandments and reveal Yahuah's justice to the nations."

Essential Scriptures

Torah's Eternal Nature

"The Torah of Yahuah is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of Yahuah is sure, making wise the simple."
Psalm 19:7

Yahusha's Perfect Obedience

"I have kept My Father's commandments and remain in His love."
John 15:10

Believers' Call to Imitation

"He who says he remains in Him ought himself also to walk as He walked."
1 John 2:6

Torah Written on Hearts

"I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts."
Jeremiah 31:33

Torah's Permanence

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete."
Matthew 5:17

Love and Commandments United

"If you love Me, you shall guard My commands."
John 14:15

Historical Evidence

Early Church Testimony

Church Fathers' Records

  • Jerome (Letter 112): Documented Nazarenes who "accept Christ in such a way that they do not cease to observe the old Law"
  • Epiphanius: Recorded Jewish believers who maintained Torah observance alongside faith in Yahusha
  • Justin Martyr: Acknowledged Torah-observant believers as legitimate Christians

Apostolic Precedent

Paul's Actions

  • Circumcised Timothy (Acts 16:3)
  • Took a Nazarite vow (Acts 18:18)
  • Declared: "I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers" (Acts 28:17)
  • Observed feasts and temple worship

Jerusalem Council Context

Acts 15 addressed Gentile entry requirements, not Jewish Torah abandonment. The council focused on what was necessary for Gentiles to begin their journey, not the complete requirements for mature believers.

Common Objections & Responses

"Paul taught that the law was done away with"
Paul consistently distinguished between ceremonial additions (traditions of men) and moral Torah. He kept Torah himself and taught its spiritual fulfillment through Yahusha, not its abolition.
"We're under grace, not law"
Grace empowers Torah obedience rather than replacing it. Romans 6:15 asks "Shall we sin because we are under grace?" and answers definitively "Certainly not!" Sin is defined as lawlessness (1 John 3:4).
"That's legalism"
Legalism seeks salvation through works. Torah Made Flesh teaches Spirit-empowered obedience as the fruit of salvation, following Yahusha's example of perfect Torah observance.
"Gentiles don't need to keep Torah"
Ephesians 2:11-19 shows Gentiles are grafted into Israel and become "fellow citizens." Romans 11 uses the olive tree metaphor—grafted branches share the same root and nature as the original tree.
"The law was only for Israel"
Torah reveals Yahuah's character, which is unchanging. What blessed Israel blesses all who join Yahuah's people. Isaiah 56:6-7 speaks of foreigners who join themselves to Yahuah to serve Him and keep His Sabbath.
